Directions to the Lakelands

Leave the M6 motorway at junction 36 and follow the signs to Windermere. Then carry on the A591 to Ambleside. Just before Ambleside, opposite the Hayes Garden Centre, take the first right into Old Lake Road. Travel along into Lower Gale and the Lakelands is on your left.

By Train:

Take a train to Oxenholme Lake District

Change at Oxenholme for the connecting line to Windermere Station.

From Windermere Station to Ambleside:

By Bus - Catch one of the Stagecoach services: 555, 599, 516 or 505

Alight at Ambleside Bus Station on Kelsick Road

By Taxi - There is a taxi rank located directly outside Windermere Station. The fare to the resort is typically £15-£20.

The Final walk from Ambleside Bus Station:

Walk up Kelsick Road

At the top of Kelsick Road, you will see a set of steps directly opposite you.

Climb those steps (55 in total)
